Unleashing Creativity

This November, Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance will launch a groundbreaking program — Expression Unbound: Digital & Traditional Art for Empowerment — a journey of creativity, culture, and self-discovery designed especially for Aboriginal artists who are d/Deaf and/or have disabilities.

With workshops scheduled for 3, 10, 17, and 24 November 2025 at The Gallery, Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance participants will be supported by a dedicated team of facilitators:

  • Art Therapist – helping artists harness creativity for healing and empowerment.
  • Digital Artist – opening doors to new visual storytelling possibilities.
  • Cultural Advisor – ensuring each artwork is deeply rooted in culture and connection to Country.

Together, they will nurture not only artistic skills but also self-belief, pride, and a sense of belonging.

“This program is about more than just creating beautiful works of art. It’s about providing artists with the support they need while teaching them new skills to create — giving them the tools, knowledge, and confidence to share their stories in ways that are truly their own.” — Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance

In 2026, participants’ works will be showcased in a professional exhibition at The Gallery of Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance — complete with accessibility features, sensory-friendly design, and an online gallery to reach audiences everywhere.

If you are an Aboriginal Gumbaynggirr, Dunghutti, Biripi and Worimi artist who are d/Deaf and/or have disabilities and want to be part of this life-changing creative experience, register your interest today:
