Meet Our Future Leaders: Eden & Sommer Join the Team

At Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance and our social enterprise, the National Aboriginal Design Agency (NADA), we’re passionate about nurturing the next generation of Aboriginal cultural leaders. This year, we are thrilled to welcome two outstanding Gumbaynggirr trainees, Eden and Sommer, to our team through a 12-month traineeship supported by Aboriginal Employment Strategies (AES).

Eden, first joined us through work experience and left such a strong impression that we created a role for him. Now partially funded through the Indigenous Languages and Arts Program, Eden is completing a Certificate III in Business Administration while supporting daily operations across the SWFW office in Coffs Harbour. With a natural curiosity and calm professionalism, Eden is fast becoming a valuable team member, learning the ropes of project delivery, customer service, and cultural program support.

Sommer brings a wealth of experience in customer service and community volunteering to her Admin Support role with our social enterprise, the National Aboriginal Design Agency. This traineeship is proudly funded by NADA, supporting her professional development in a culturally safe, creative environment. While completing a Certificate III in Business Administration, Sommer is building valuable skills and experience. Her eye for detail, strong work ethic, and interest in arts and animal care make her a great fit for the work we do.

We’re delighted to walk alongside Eden and Sommer as they build their careers, contribute to our shared vision, and strengthen cultural knowledge across the Mid North Coast.
