The Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance, with the support of Create NSW, is proud to present a transformative one-day Aboriginal Youth Dance Workshop at the Murrook Cultural Centre, Williamtown, on Monday 2nd June 2025.

This dynamic cultural workshop is designed specifically for Aboriginal youth aged 16 to 18 from the Birpai, Biripi, and Worimi Nations. It offers a rare opportunity for young people to connect deeply with Country and culture through the powerful medium of traditional dance.
Facilitated by the renowned Worimi Dance Troupe, the workshop will guide participants through traditional movement, storytelling, and cultural practice. The day will culminate in an opportunity for participants to potentially showcase their newly developed skills in a public performance setting.
This program aligns with Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance’s ongoing mission to revitalise Aboriginal cultural practices across the Mid North Coast. The Alliance’s previous programs have demonstrated the strength of culture in building pride, resilience, and leadership in Aboriginal youth. By blending contemporary engagement methods with ancestral knowledge, these workshops provide a culturally safe space where identity and connection are fostered.
The Murrook Cultural Centre—an award-winning facility built on Worimi Country—provides the perfect setting for this experience. As a respected community hub for cultural exchange, Murrook’s connection to the land and people enhances the significance of this gathering.
