With funding through the Aboriginal Regional Arts Fund, Saltwater Freshwater Arts Alliance ran a series of ceramic masterclasses with Aboriginal artists from the Mid North Coast, primarily Wingham, Kempsey and a final gathering at Yarrawarra Aboriginal Cultural Centre in Corindi.
Our regions artists had the opportunity to work with Aboriginal ceramic artist Penny Evans, supported by local ceramic artists Steve Williams and Jan Kesby, with the final workshop facilitated by Aboriginal artist Alison Williams.
A number of the ceramic pieces were selected to be exhibited in the 2019 Saltwater Freshwater Exhibition and Art Prize.
