Aboriginal artists connected to the Gumbaynggirr, Dunghutti, Birpai and Worimi Nations are now invited to submit an Expression of Interest for the Saltwater Freshwater Festival 2027 Official Artwork.
Presented by the National Aboriginal Design Agency (NADA), the competition will commission four original artworks—one representing each Nation—to create the official visual identity of the 2027 Festival.
Inspired by the Festival theme, Strong Voices. Shared Stories. Living Culture., the selected artworks will be featured across Festival T-shirts and promotional campaigns.
Selected artists will receive:
- A professional artwork commission.
- Royalties from the sale of official Festival merchandise featuring their artwork.
- An Artist Licence Agreement that protects copyright and Indigenous Cultural and Intellectual Property (ICIP).
- Professional promotion through the Saltwater Freshwater Festival and NADA.
Artists retain copyright in their artwork.
